Temple Committees

There are a variety of committees which allow congregants to have an active role in the life of the temple. Committees are made up of congregants, board members, the rabbis and in many cases representatives from the community. Your participation (.doc file, .pdf file) would be welcome.

Religious School Committee
Sets standards and policies for the religious school, provides direction for curriculum development and plans events which students participate in.

To participate in the Religious school committee, e mail Melissa Woods at Woodsyz@gateway.net

Ritual Committee
The ritual committee provides support and direction to policies which impact the spiritual needs of the congregation. Ritual committee members work closely with Temple Sinai rabbis in developing worship events, coordination of High Holy Day activities and seek to foster Judaic learning for the Temple community.

Contact Martina Zobel via the Temple for more information.

Strategic Planning Committee
The newest committee addition to Temple Sinai, the Strategic Planning Committee is responsible for the long range planning processes of the Temple. The committee runs focus groups of congregants, sponsors retreats and other activities to ensure the viability of Temple Sinai for the long term.

Building and Grounds Committee
The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for the general upkeep of the Temple building as well as renovation and expansion projects which come out of the Temple strategic planning committee.

Please contact Naomi Tannen for general questions on membership.

Special Events Committee

Active participation in these and other committees is encouraged. While the congregation has grown, the cooperative nature of the original framework remains an integral part of our philosophy.
